Who is weightlifting for?

Weightlifting is for everyone. We welcome individuals of all ages and abilities, whether you’re a complete beginner, or seasoned lifter.

 

Does it matter that I have never weightlifted before?

Not at all! Our experienced coaches will take you through the basics and help build your knowledge of different lifts and the proper technique.

 

Do I need to lift a lot of weight?

No. Whether you can lift 10kg or 100kg, weightlifting is a sport for everyone. Correct form is more important than heavy weights!

 

What do the coached sessions involved?

Coached sessions at Stars for the Future are not 1-on-1 personal training sessions. The coaches are responsible for all members training at the time, and will offer feedback and tips throughout the session.

 

Do I need special shoes?

In your first few sessions, we have shoes you will be able to borrow. If you decide Olympic Weightlifting is the sport for you, our coaches will be able to advise which shoes would be best for you.
