Out of 15 people, 12 people jumped onto Chiswick’s minibus with a big thanks to Paula Middleton, the head of PE of Chiswick High School. Thanks to Shila, Nam, Noorin and Jaspreet for helping out at the competition who gave up their weekend and time to support, coach and helping BWL as an official which makes us proud.

In group 1 year 10, we there were 8 girls of which 4 belonged to our club

1 – Sophya Rana (Lampton High School, Hounslow) in the 63kg category. 38 Snatch, 46 C&J. 5kg PB. Silver

3 of our girls competed in the 63kg+ category with Rebekah Tyler who is a British and European record holder. She broke 6 records in this competition in U15 up to U23.

2 – Hope Adams (Fulham Girls, Hammersmith), 40 Snatch, 52 C&J. 2kg PB, silver.

3 – Rosie Hogg (Feltham Community High, Hounslow), 39 Snatch, 47 C&J. 2kg PB, bronze. She could have beat Hope if she lifted 53 C&J

4 – Gabriella Maguran (Feltham Community High, Hounslow). She is a new girl with a new experience. 25 snatch, 34 C&J. 6kg PB, 4th place/

Girl’s year 11 with 5 girls, 2 of which were ours

5 – Alysia Ekpiken in 69kg+ category (Lampton High School, Hounslow). 1st place with 46 snatch, 53 C&J.

6 – Sorcha Gavin in 53kg category (Whitmore High School, Harrow) 54 snatch, 60 C&J. 1st place, her thumb was injured and with this injury she missed 71kg jerk which could have led her to the European Youths but she qualified for the British Seniors.

Girl’s U17 with 3 girls, 1 of which were ours.

7 – Aisha Kazi in 69kg category (Heathland High School, Hounslow) 35 snatch, 50 clean and jerk with a 10kg PB. 1st place.

Boy’s year 10 with 13 boys, 2 of which were ours

8 – Gurdeep Paul in 62kg category (Barnhill Community High, Hillingdon) 81 snatch, 91 C&J. He got 1st place with 248.75 he became 5th best lifter in the whole competition with a 20kg PB increase from his last competition and he qualified for the British U23’s

9 – Se Gavin in 77kg+ category (Whitmore High School, Harrow) He attained 1st place with a British title and 3 British records in the 85kg+ category with 78 Snatch and 97 C&J with a total of 175 C&J. He broke his own record of 96 C&J from his last competition

Boy’s year 11 with 17 boys it had the most lifters, 2 of which were ours

10 – Alessandro Salomon in the 77kg category (Chiswick High School, Hounslow). He is our new lifter with a great talent. He obtained 3rd place with 65 snatch and 89 C&J. 24kg PB. He has a big future.

11 – Kian Panjavi in the 62kg category (Brentside High School, Ealing).He came 1st with 85 Snatch and 97 C&J which led him to a 182kg total so he qualified for the British Seniors at 15 years of age. He was the 2nd best lifter of the competition after Fridi Ibrahimi

Boy’s U17 with 6 lifters, 1 of which was ours

12 – Dean Bakasa in the 62kg category (Heathland High School, Hounslow) He obtained an easy 1st place with 70kg snatch and 97 C&J and he qualified for the British U23’s

We had a 2nd best lifter of the competition and 3 British records broken. Two of our lifters qualified for the British Seniors and 4 qualified for the British U23’s and out of 10 teams, our team with 263 points became British School and Youth Champions of 2014 and 2nd place was Kilmarnock with 227 points and St Birinus came 3rd with 177 points.

We managed to grab:6 Gold:Shonagh WoodBurn – Year 9 in 58kg (46 snatch + 57 C/J)   Cranford High school _Hounslow
                                   Thirs best female lifter in the 2013 British school championship.
Kian Panjavi –             Year 10 in 62kg (64 snatch + 73 C/J) Brentside High school -Ealing
Thirs best male lifter in the 2013 British school championship.

ps:     Kian lift the most weight in the team plus 6 successes lift with 8kg personal best  (Best Male lifter for club and Thirs best male lifter in the 2013 British school championship)
Shonagh  also had 6 success lift with 4 kg personal best (Best Female lifter for club and Thirs best female lifter in the 2013 British school championship). Our head coach hope she is going to select for England talent squad very soon.
We had a 12 lifters from 7 schools, but from 19 lifters registered to compete, 2 girls from Greenford didn’t come because of poor communication between school and us (same as 2012) they lost one gold and one Bronze, 5 lifters from Barnhill just didn’t turned up and they lost one Gold, one silver and one Bronze.

Last year fromm Barnhill and Brentside in 2011 British school championship , Noorin, Mirwaz and Kian took 3 gold medals.

After one year I am proud to say that we could involve 7 schools from HIllingdon. Hounslow, Ealing.

This year we have : 6 Golds, 5 Silvers, 2 Bronze and one 4th place.
