Team leaders like teachers, scout/guide leaders, youth group leaders, sports coaches and community leaders will bring together over 250 teams of 16-18 year olds (that’s more than 2,000 volunteers) to help make the London 2012 Games happen. They’ll be known as Young Games Makers.
Young Games Makers are needed in the Technology department and across a number of sports, for Weightlifting; 2 students.
Each team will need to have at least two team leaders, aged 18 by 1 January 2012.
Team leaders are responsible for their young volunteers during selection events, training and the Games.
When London won the bid to host the London 2012 Games, they made a promise to inspire more young people to choose sport. One of the ways London does this is through volunteering.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for young people to get involved in the greatest show on earth – while learning new skills, gaining experience and making new friends.
